WELCOME TO STRATHPINE SPITFIRES LITTLE ATHLETICS

ABOUT US
Since our establishment in 1977, our Centre has proudly grown into one of Queensland’s most successful athletics clubs, with athletes representing at both state and national levels.
As an affiliated club with Queensland Athletics (QA) and Little Athletics Queensland (LAQ), we offer inclusive pathways for all ages and abilities — from young kids to masters athletes (35+). Whether you're just starting out or aiming for high-level competition, we’re here to support a lifelong love of athletics and active living.
We’re proud to be the eighth oldest surviving Centre in Queensland and were recently honoured as the 2025 Centre of the Year (Major City) at the QLD Little Athletics Awards Night.
Tiny Tots - Ages 3–4
Our Tiny Tots program is a fun and active introduction to athletics for 3 and 4-year-olds. It focuses on developing basic movement skills through play-based activities in a safe and supportive environment.

Little Athletics - Under 6 – Under 17
Children participate in age-based groups from Under 6 through to Under 17. Each age group follows a developmentally appropriate program covering a range of track and field events.

Senior Program - Ages 18+
Want to join the fun as an adult? Our Senior Program is open to all interested adults looking to stay active or compete. Senior athletes must also register with Queensland Athletics (QA) this is separate from Little Athletics Queensland (LAQ).

Our Season at Strathpine Little Athletics

Our athletics season runs from late August 2025 through to March 2026.
We hold our weekly competition nights on Fridays, starting from 5:45pm at our Centre.

Each competition evening features a variety of track and field events tailored to suit the age and ability of each child , ensuring a fun, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate experience for all.
At the heart of Little Athletics is the philosophy of “Family, Fun, and Fitness.” Our focus is on participation, personal improvement, and building confidence through sport.
Our Centre is completely volunteer-run, and we rely on the support of all parents and carers to ensure our nights run smoothly and efficiently.
We encourage every family to get involved, whether it’s helping at an event, assisting with setup, or supporting your age group.
If you're unsure how to help, just ask one of our friendly committee members or volunteers — we're always happy to guide you!
An exciting new Little Athletics Season for 2025/26 is just around the corner
